Clubs and Associations
Amnesty International - Work with fellow students and local organizations to educate and take action on human rights issues.
Another Creative Perspective - ACP is the College's annual literary magazine that offers a creative outlet to all members of the ACPHS community. Faculty, staff, and students all contribute to this publication.
Biomedical Technology - Group for students interested in careers as laboratory professionals.
Colleges Against Cancer - One of the most popular groups on campus, CAC organizes activities related to cancer advocacy, education, and fundraising. In 2011, the ACPHS chapter of CAC was named the national chapter of the year, beating out more than 500 other schools for the honor.
Craft and Quilt Guild - This club brings together students, faculty and staff to exchange ideas and experiences, teach new skills, make friends, and donate money to local charities through quilt raffles and craft sales.
Dance Team - This club is open to students interested in learning to dance or who have been dancing for years.This club performs at ACPHS basketball games and holds shows on campus.
Equestrian Club - Open to the experienced and the novice, members learn about everything from feeding to riding horses.
Golf Club - A great way to enjoy the nice weather, the golf club organizes group outings to local golf clubs.
Hip-Hop Club - This club gives students opportunities to learn about all aspects of hip hop, from dancing to the history of the culture.
Lacrosse Club - Members participate in local scrimmages and tournaments during the fall and spring against other club teams from local colleges.
Mortar & Pestle - The Mortar and Pestle ("M&P") is the online student newspaper of the College. The site includes editorials, interviews with ACPHS faculty and staff, athletics updates, and a range of other news and information from both of the College's campuses.
Multi-Cultural Club - For the culturally-minded, this Club arranges trips to ethnic neighborhoods, restaurants, movies, and arranges an International Bazaar and Food Festival.
Orthodox Christian Student Association - Open to all students, this club aims to provide everyone with an opportunity to grow spiritually and learn more about Christianity. Club activities include a weekly Bible study, local community service projects, and an open gym night.
Outdoors Club - Members engage in white-water rafting, biking, snowshoeing, camping, rock-climbing, and other interesting outdoor activities. An international trip is typically scheduled each year during the winter break. Destinations in the past have included Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico.
Peer Connections - Peer Connections is the peer education group at ACPHS. Peer Connection educators are ACPHS students who help provide health and wellness education to their peers in a way that is helpful, informative, interactive, and fun.
PharmAcappella - A choral group of amazing talent, this club performs concerts on and off campus.
Pre-PA Club - For students interested in pursuing careers as Physician Assistants.
Service Club -This club helps students get involved in the community and fosters a service-mindedness needed in future roles as health care professionals. Activities include helping out at benefit walks, volunteering at homeless shelters, visiting children in local hospitals, and cooking meals at the Ronald McDonald House.
Ski and Snowboard Club - For skiers and snowboarders, this Club takes advantage of the many ski areas within a few hours of Albany. Frequent night and weekend activities are scheduled.
Student Government Association - Join student government to represent your class and vote on issues impacting you and your classmates.
Students Performing Arts in Health Care - Student musicians of all backgrounds perform together for the campus community and in health care settings throughout the area.
Tennis Club - Members of the tennis club play on campus a few nights a week, as well as host charity tennis tournaments.
Ultimate Frisbee Club - Ultimate Frisbee is a cross between football, soccer, and basketball. Grab a few friends and put a team together for this great way to stay active.
Yearbook - Students work together throughout the year to assemble this annual publication that offers a snapshot of life at the College.
American College of Clinical Pharmacy (student chapter) - Learn more about the many career paths available to clinical pharmacists, gain access to resources to further your professional development, and get involved in a variety of campus and service initiatives.
American Pharmacists Association - Academy of Student Pharmacists - One of the largest and most active groups on campus, APhA-ASP members organize a number of health related activities in the community, including the annual Health Expo at the College.
Association of Managed Care Pharmacy (student chapter) - Gain valuable career information, networking opportunities, and educational programming related to working in a managed care setting. AMCP student members are also engaged in a variety of community service activities related to health and wellness.
Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists - As an affiliate of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, the mission of this group is to provide information to students about career directions in, and credentials needed for, pharmacy practice in environments such as hospitals, health maintenance organizations, and long-term care facilities.
Rho Pi Phi – This international pharmacy fraternity sponsors an annual Poison Prevention Program with information booths at local malls and conducts a Bowlathon for charity.
Phi Lambda Sigma – Students are selected for membership by this national society on the basis of their service and leadership in the advancement of pharmacy.
Rho Chi – After six semesters, pharmacy students in the top fifth of their class with an 85 average are eligible for membership in this prestigious national honor society.
