Our recreation program includes open gyms on Thursday and Friday nights starting at 8:00 p.m. in the Albert M. White gymnasium, eSports, and fitness classes on Monday and Wednesday nights at 5:30 p.m. The ACPHS Fitness Center (basement floor of library building) is open 7 days a week, 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
ACPHS works in conjunction with Follett Bookstores to offer our students a one-stop shop for all their academic needs and for ACPHS-branded swag. Our bookstore is in the Student Center, basement level (as you walk into the Atrium, you will see stairs on the right that lead down to the bookstore). Stop by and check out everything that we have to offer or shop online at ACPHS Bookstore.
The Center for Student Success, located on the third floor of the library building, offers support services for students:
- Academic Class Advisors: Each new student is assigned a class advisor to support them in their transition to ACPHS academics and resources.
- Tutoring Services: Peer Tutors, Writing Consultants, and Professional Tutors are available by appointment and on a drop-in basis. Use the Penji app to see drop-in schedules and tutor appointment availability.
- Peer Mentoring: All incoming students can be matched with a peer mentor. Your mentor can help you navigate campus, your courses, the Albany area, and ease your transition to college life at ACPHS. Bonus: join in on fun activities specifically for mentees and mentors!
- Career Services: Need help with your resume? Looking for a part-time job? Graduating and looking for your first real job? You can visit our career platform, Handshake, to access resources, job postings, and employer information, or to make an appointment to meet with a career advisor.

ACPHS supports more than 55 active clubs and professional organizations on campus. Specifically for Commuter Students, the Commuter Student Club (CSC) offers commuter student on and off campus opportunities to connect with other commuting students. Their mission is to create a network for both current and new ACPHS commuter students that supports a sense of community and connection as well as promotes active commuter student involvement within both the ACPHS community and the community at large.
The Office of Counseling and Wellness (OCW) provides mental health and supportive counseling for all ACPHS students. All counseling is free, confidential, and unlimited. Services are provided by licensed counselors, and meetings can be held in-person or via Zoom. Appointments can be made by emailing counselingservices@acphs.edu or by calling 518-694-7262. The office is on the second floor of the Gozzo Student Center, Suite 209, and is open 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
ACPHS, in conjunction with Chartwells Dining Services, offer a wide variety of dining options on the Albany Campus. See the link below for more information.
Meal plans are combinations of value meals and flex dollars, both tracked on a declining basis. Click the link below to see meal plan options for resident and commuter students.

Sponsored by the Campus Activities Programming Board, the Office of Student Engagement and Leadership sells discounted movie tickets every Thursday and Friday throughout the fall and spring semesters. Tickets are $5.00 per ticket for students and $9.00 per ticket for ACPHS faculty and staff members. Limit two tickets per week per person.
The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion (DEI) Office works with multiple community organizations to provide our students with a sense of inclusion on campus and in the capital district.
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Suite is on the library's third floor. Within the Suite is a lunge that offers ample room for student meetings, lounge chairs, an update and events board, and a contemplative space for prayer/meditation. This space is open to everyone to study and relax in.

In the event of a delayed opening, early closing, or an all-day closing:
- An email will be sent to students, faculty, and staff through your ACPHS email account and SendWordNow e-mail.
- The homepage of the College’s website, www.acphs.edu, will list the postponement or closing. Information will also be updated as necessary on the website.
- Local television and radio stations will be notified.
If a change to the schedule is going to be made due to weather which occurred overnight or in the early morning hours, every effort will be made to make these notifications by 6:00 a.m. In the event of the College closing, all College offices and facilities (except the Gozzo Student Center and College owned Residence Halls) will be closed. Princeton Classrooms will be open. UHA Public Safety will remain open 24/7 regardless of weather conditions. Chartwells Food Service will operate on a weekend/holiday schedule. Please be reminded that travelling to and from campus during inclement weather is a personal decision and circumstances vary depending on the individual. All community members should make their decisions based on their own circumstances.
Engage@ACPHS is the system used by all SGA recognized clubs and professional organizations on campus. Through this system, Clubs and Professional Organizations can advertise their events and meetings to the ACPHS campus community.
To sign into Engage@ACPHS, you must use your ACPHS log in credentials.
The ACPHS Fitness Center (basement floor of library building) is open 7 days a week, 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
University Heights Association Public Safety (UHA Public Safety) provides public safety services on the ACPHS campus and neighboring campuses of Albany Law School and the Sage College of Albany. This service is seven days a week, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The UHA Office of Public Safety is at the Sage College of Albany Armory, 130 New Scotland Avenue, Rooms 111-116. The entrance to the Public Safety Offices is on the east side of the Armory (the side closest to the O’Brien Building).
In an emergency, Public Safety can be reached at 518-244-3177, or you may dial local safety and support services as appropriate.
Public Safety also offers jump starts, lock out assistance, escorts, and assistance in contacting a towing service or auto club.

ACPHS Students can utilize the Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) public transportation system for free during the fall and spring semesters with a valid ACPHS student ID. Please note you must present your ACPHS ID when boarding CDTA buses.

The Student Government Association (SGA) serves as the primary liaison between the ACPHS student body and the ACPHS administration. The SGA is led by the Executive Board, consisting of the SGA President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Social Chair. The SGA E-board also includes the Professional Organizations and Clubs Chairs, which support the over 55+ interest groups, clubs, and professional organizations on campus. Also, the SGA organizes the Senate, which includes class representation and student special interest groups.
ACPHS students may access medical services through Russell Sage College’s wellness centers on the Albany and Troy campuses. The well-established health centers offer holistic medical care to students. Nurse practitioners work in collaboration with a physician to offer physicals, sick visits and referrals to other medical experts as needed.
Services are covered by the ACPHS student health and wellness fee. If referrals to specialists are required, students must use other means, including their health insurance, to cover those costs. All services, including consultations and referrals, are confidential. Information is not shared without written consent.

All ACPHS students are required to provide proof of health insurance coverage. For those without private coverage, health insurance through MVP Healthcare is offered to all ACPHS students for an affordable yearly fee. - Located on the third floor of the Library Building, this space offers ample room for studying and student meetings.
Katzman Lounge
- This space is located on the second floor of the Student Center and is connected to the ACPHS Dining Hall.
Panther’s Den
- Located in the Student Center, this space is an event, lounge, and study space for ACPHS students.
Princeton Classrooms
- The Princeton Classrooms, also known as the PCL rooms, are located on the Princeton side of the 84 Holland Ave building. These spaces offer students spaces to study both independently and in groups.
Third Floor of the Library
- The third floor of the library building offers several study spaces for students to use. These include three small rooms with tables and chairs that fit three to four people and a larger community style study space. Library room 308 is also available to students.
