Federal Pell Grants
Students may apply for the federal Pell grant by filing the FAFSA. Grants are available to students who qualify, based upon need as determined by the federal methodology formula. The Office of Financial Aid must receive a valid ISIR for processing of the Pell grant payment. Awards range from $692 to $6,895 per year for full-time enrollment, contingent upon congressional approval of funds and the expenses at the College. Students must maintain satisfactory progress toward their first undergraduate degree.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
Awards may range from $320 to $1,600 per year for Pell-eligible students. Funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to students with the greatest need. Students filing the FAFSA are automatically considered, based on financial need.
Veterans Administration Educational Benefits
Chapters 30, 32, 33, 35 and 1606 of the U.S. Code established federal rules and regulations for educational benefits for veterans and their dependents. The benefits are administered as monthly stipends by the Veterans Administration. Veterans also may receive contributory benefits if they choose to participate in this program during their service in the military. Applications and information are available at the local Veterans Administration offices. Additional information concerning benefits is also available at www.gibill.va.gov.
Bureau of Indian Affairs Scholarship
Eligibility is restricted to students with financial need who are at least one-fourth American Indian, Eskimo or Aleut and are enrolled members of a tribe, band or group recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs Office. Application must be made each year through the NY Liaison Office, Federal Building, Room 523, South Clinton Street, Syracuse, NY 13202. In addition, first-time applicants must obtain tribal certification from the bureau agency or tribal office that records the enrollment for the tribe.
The U.S. Department of Education offers Direct Loans which have low interest rates, and, when used with discretion, provide an affordable option to meet the cost of a quality education.
Students will complete the Direct Loan E-MPN during the first year of attendance. Annual eligibility for Direct Loans will be communicated on the student’s financial aid award letter. Students must accept their loans online or sign and return a paper financial aid award letter to the Office of Financial Aid each year in order to accept or decline Direct Loan funds. Transfer students or students with prior loan history will be required to complete a new Direct Loan E-MPN in order to borrow at ACPHS. Parents will complete the PLUS E-MPN during the student’s first year of attendance. Students and parents without internet access may complete a paper MPN available in the Office of Financial Aid.
Direct Loans and PLUS E-MPN forms must be completed by June 1, 2022, to ensure payment for fall semester expenses. All federal loans are certified for a full academic year (two semesters). Federal loans are disbursed in payments, with approximately one-half of the total loan amount disbursed each semester.
Federal Direct Subsidized Loan
The Federal Direct Subsidized Loan is available to students with financial need. Repayment of the loan begins six months after the student graduates, withdraws or drops to less than half-time attendance. The interest is subsidized (paid) by the federal government during in-school periods and during the six-month grace period. Direct Subsidized Loans for all students with a first disbursement date on or after July 1, 2022 and prior to July 1, 2023 have an interest rate of 4.99%. The student will pay an origination fee of 1.057% of the loan amount, deducted proportionally each time a loan disbursement is made.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan
The same terms and conditions as Subsidized loans apply, except that the borrower is responsible for the interest that accrues while in school. Undergraduate Direct Unsubsidized Loans with a first disbursement date on or after July 1, 2022 and prior to July 1, 2023 have an interest rate of 4.99%. The student will pay an origination fee of 1.057% of the loan amount, deducted proportionally each time a loan disbursement is made.
The following are the annual and aggregate loan limits for the dependent students, graduate students and professional students borrowing under the Subsidized and Unsubsidized federal Direct Loan programs. The annual loan limits for students enrolled in a program less than one year in length are pro-rated. Two summer semesters will be included in determining Stafford loan eligibility.

Federal Direct PLUS Loans for Parents
This program allows parents of dependent students to borrow funds to assist in meeting the college cost. This program is limited to parents with no adverse credit history. The current interest rate is 7.54% and is charged from the date of the first disbursement until the loan is paid in full. The parent will pay an origination fee of 4.228% of the loan amount, deducted proportionately each time a loan disbursement is made. The repayment period for a Direct PLUS Loan begins once the loan is fully disbursed, and the first payment is due within 60 days after the final disbursement. Please note, for Direct PLUS Loans with a first disbursement date on or after July 1, 2008, the parent borrower may defer repayment while the student on whose behalf the parent borrowed the loan is enrolled on at least a half-time basis, and for an additional six months after the student ceases to be enrolled at least half-time or graduates.
Federal Direct PLUS Loans for Graduate and Professional Students
This program allows graduate and professional students to borrow funds to assist in meeting the college costs. This program is limited to students with no adverse credit history. Graduate PLUS Loans with a first disbursement date on or after July 1, 2022 and prior to July 1, 2023 have an interest rate of 7.54%. The student will pay an origination fee of 4.228% of the loan amount, deducted proportionately each time a loan disbursement is made.
Federal Consolidation Loan
For students who have graduated and want to combine their debt into one lower payment.

Federal Health Professions Student Loans (HPSL)
The HPSL program is offered by the College to those pharmacy students demonstrating financial need through an analysis of the FAFSA. Income and resources of student, spouse and parent(s) must be considered, regardless of the dependency status of a student. The maximum loan is $2,500 plus tuition, not to exceed total costs less all resources. This loan carries a 5 percent interest rate, which does not accrue until 12 months after graduation or termination of studies. Funds are extremely limited. Please read the HPSL disclosure information.
Federal Perkins Loans
Loans are limited by the amount of federal funding allocated to the College. Eligibility is based upon financial need. This loan carries a 5 percent interest rate, which does not accrue until nine months after graduation or termination of studies. Students awarded a Perkins loan will complete a Master Promissory Note with the College. Funds are extremely limited. Please read the Perkins Loan disclosure information.
Federal Work Study Program
The program is funded through federal and College funds. Students must exhibit financial need in order to qualify for the program. Students may seek a work-study position on campus or at an approved off-campus site. This program allows students to work and earn money for their educational expenses. Students working in positions on-campus are paid $14.20 per hour and generally work 3-6 hours per week during the academic year. Students may work up to a maximum of 20 hours per week in extraordinary cases, with permission from the vice president of enrollment management. Students working in the America Reads/Counts Federal Work Study program provide reading and math tutoring to pre-school and elementary school children at off-campus locations. America Reads/Counts tutors are paid $15.00 per hour and generally work 2-4 hours per week. Students must attend training as part of this program.
The Higher Education Services Corporation (HESC) administers the New York State programs of financial assistance to undergraduate students. Questions concerning any of the programs described below may be addressed by contacting the Office of Financial Aid. Eligibility
In order to receive payment under New York State financial assistance programs, students must:
- Be a legal resident of New York State for at least one year prior to the start of the term
- Be a United States Citizen or eligible non-citizen
- Study at an approved post-secondary institution in New York State (NYS)
- Have graduated from high school in the United States, earned a high school equivalency diploma by passing a Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) formally known as a GED, or passed a federally approved "Ability to Benefit" test as defined by the Commissioner of the State Education Department;
- Be enrolled as a full-time student taking 12 or more credits (applicable toward your degree program) per semester
- Be matriculated in an approved program of study and be in good academic standing with at least a "C" average as of the 4th semester payment;
- Be enrolled as a full-time student taking twelve or more credits applicable toward the degree program, per semester to receive TAP; (1)
- Be in compliance with the terms of any service condition imposed by a NYS award
- Meet income requirement
- Be charged at least $200 tuition per year
- Not be in default on any state or federal student loan or on any repayment of state awards
(1) Credit-bearing courses in the student's minimum full-time course load (12 semester hours or the equivalent) must consist of courses applicable to the student's program of study as a general education requirement, major requirement, or elective.
Pursuit of Program Requirement for New York State Awards
In order to receive New York State awards, a student is required to receive a passing or failing grade (A-F letter grade) in a certain percentage of courses each term, depending upon the number of state award payments that a student has received. The percentage is determined according to the following schedule:
- 1 or 2 payments must receive a grade for 50% of minimum full-time requirement (6 credit hours each semester)
- 3 or 4 payments must receive a grade for 75% of minimum full-time requirement (9 credit hours each semester)
- 5 or more payments must receive a grade for 100% (12 credit hours each semester)
> Pursuit of Program: a requirement that the student complete a certain percentage of credits each term.
> Satisfactory Academic Progress: a requirement that the student earns a specified number of credits and achieves a specified cumulative grade-point average each term.
> Be free of debt from a defaulted guaranteed student loan. If the student previously has defaulted on a guaranteed student loan, he or she may reestablish eligibility for state financial aid through the Renewed Eligibility for Financial Aid program. Contact the Loans Division of HESC by scheduling a phone appointment (https://startheregetthere.ny.gov/callback-reservation/scholarships) for information regarding the REFA program.
New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP)
In the 2022-23 year, TAP will provide a tuition award from $500 to $5,165 per year. The award schedules are determined by the State Legislature during the annual state budget process. The award is based upon the total of the NYS taxable income reported for the student, spouse and parent(s) on the NYS tax forms. The TAP award is not a loan and does not have to be repaid. To receive a TAP award as an undergraduate student, the total of the NYS taxable incomes of the student, spouse and parent(s) cannot exceed $80,000. To receive a TAP award as a graduate student, the total of the NYS taxable incomes of the student, spouse, and parent(s) cannot exceed $20,000.
TAP Application Procedures
The student must file the FAFSA by May 1 in order to receive a TAP award for the following academic year. HESC will use information provided on the FAFSA to generate a TAP award.
ACPHS’s undergraduate TAP code is 0995. This code should be reported for the first four years of study in the Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree program or all years of study in the bachelor’s degree programs.
- Student files the FAFSA online - Student will link to the online TAP application at the end of the FAFSA session. Student must establish a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for TAP. After establishing the PIN, the student may complete the TAP application online. Information from the FAFSA and the family's calculated NYS net taxable income will be pre-filled on the TAP-on-the-Web application. If the student has received TAP in a prior year, HESC may determine the TAP award and notify the student with only the FAFSA data.
- Student files the paper FAFSA - HESC will contact the student by postcard or e-mail approximately three weeks after the student submits the paper FAFSA to the federal processor. At that time, the student may go to HESC, establish a PIN and complete the TAP application online. Information from the FAFSA and the family's calculated NYS net taxable income will be pre-filled on the TAP-on-the-Web application. If the student chooses not to apply online, HESC will mail an Express TAP Application (ETA) to the student. Information from the FAFSA and the family's calculated NYS net taxable income will be preprinted on the ETA. The student must submit the ETA directly to HESC.
Other NYS Scholarships and Awards
Memorial Scholarships
These scholarships are available for students who are a financial dependent of, or who have a parent or spouse who was a firefighter, volunteer firefighter, police officer, peace officer or emergency medical service worker who died as the result of injuries sustained in the line of duty in service to the State of New York. These scholarships provide funds to meet the costs of attending college. Memorial Scholarship awards are based on allowances for tuition and non-tuition costs, which include room and board, books, supplies, mandatory fees and transportation. The tuition allowance is equal to the undergraduate tuition costs at the State University of New York or actual tuition, whichever is less. The Memorial Scholarship award is available for four years of full-time undergraduate study (or for five years in an approved five-year bachelor’s degree program). The student must be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program in order to qualify. The student must establish eligibility by submitting a Memorial Scholarship Supplement, which is available from HESC. Once eligibility has been established, the student must submit an application for payment by May 1 of the academic year for which payment of the scholarship is sought.
New York State Aid to Native Americans
Specific eligibility criteria and information can be requested by contacting the Native American Education Unit, NYS Education Department, Room 374 EBA, Albany, NY 12234, (518) 474-0537. Enrolled members of a New York State tribe and their children who are attending or planning to attend a college in New York State, who are New York State residents, may be eligible. Awards for full-time students are up to $2,000 annually, $1,000 per semester. Part time awards are approximately $85 per credit hour. Applications must be postmarked by July 15 for the fall semester, December 31 for the spring semester and May 20 for summer sessions. Students must apply for each semester.
Child of Veteran Awards
These awards provide $450 annually for students whose parent(s) served in the U.S. Armed Forces during specified periods of war or national emergency and, as a result of service, died, suffered a 40 percent or more disability or were classified as missing in action or prisoner of war. The veteran must currently be a New York State resident or have been a New York State resident at the time of death, if death occurred during or as a result of service. The periods of service included are the Vietnam/Indochina era, the Korean conflict,World War I,World War II, the Persian Gulf and the Merchant Seamen. Students whose parent(s) have been a recipient of the Armed Forces, Navy or Marine Corps expeditionary medal for participation in operations in Lebanon may qualify. In addition, students born with spina bifida whose parent(s) are Vietnam Veterans who served in the U.S.Ar med Forces in Indochina between December 22, 1961, and May 7, 1975, also may qualify. Students initially must establish eligibility by submitting a Child of Veteran Award Supplement Form with the New York State Higher Education Services Corporation BEFORE applying for payment. Applications must be filed before May 1 of the academic year.
World Trade Center Memorial Scholarship
This award is available to children, spouses and financial dependents of deceased or severely and permanently disabled victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States. This includes victims at the World Trade Center site or Pentagon, or on flights 11, 77, 93 or 175, and survivors of the terrorist attacks who severely and permanently are disabled as a result of injuries sustained in the attacks or rescue and recovery operations. This award will be an amount equal to State University of New York four-year college tuition and average mandatory educational fees (or the student’s actual tuition and fees, whichever is less) and allowances for room and board, books, supplies and transportation. Students must submit the New York State World Trade Center Memorial Scholarship Application to HESC. In all cases, the total of all aid received by the recipient cannot exceed the student’s cost of attendance.
Veteran Tuition Award
These awards provide financial assistances to Vietnam Veterans, Persian Gulf Veterans and Afghanistan Veterans studying on either a full-time or part-time basis meet tuition charges. Applicants must complete the New York State Veterans Tuition Award Supplement on HescWeb or contact the HESC Scholarship Unit to establish eligibility.
New York State Scholarships for Academic Excellence
These scholarships are awarded to high school seniors based upon scores obtained on certain NYS Regents exams. Awardees are required to be residents of New York State and to attend schools located within New York State. These scholarships provide $500 to $1,500 each year but may not exceed the total costs of tuition, fees, books, transportation, and room and board less the amount of any federal Pell grant the student receives or would be entitled to receive. Note: The student must complete the FAFSA in order to provide income information to enable the school to make this determination.

ACPHS offers the following Institutional Aid based upon established criteria. All awards are based upon full-time enrollment each semester, unless otherwise indicated. Need-based scholarships require the student to file the FAFSA or Renewal FAFSA each year by the published priority deadlines of February 1 for new students and March 1 for returning students.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Academic Excellence Award
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering freshmen upon admission to the College based upon superior academic achievement in high school. The Academic Excellence Award is renewed each year provided the student maintains a cumulative overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Although eligibility for this scholarship is based upon academic merit, students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other sources of financial aid.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Panther Pride Award
ACPHS offers limited scholarship to qualified entering freshmen based on FAFSA results and academic performance. The Panther Pride Award is renewed each year provided the student maintains a cumulative overall GPA of 2.8 or better. Students must submit the FAFSA each year to determine eligibility for this grant.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Special Recognition Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified transfer students upon admission to the College based. The Special Recognition Scholarship is renewed each year provided the student maintains an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Although this scholarship is based upon academic merit, students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other sources of financial aid.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Legacy Scholarships
ACPHS offers limited scholarships to qualified entering freshman who have immediate family members currently attending or are graduates of the College. This award is renewed each year, provided the student maintains an overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Valedictorian Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering freshmen upon admission to the College who were ranked first in their class by their high school. This scholarship is offered for the freshman year only.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Salutatorian Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering freshmen upon admission to the College who were ranked second in their class by their high school. This scholarship is offered for the freshman year only.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences New Visions Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering freshmen upon admission to the College and based upon completion of the New Visions Program, offered through the Board of Cooperative Educational Services of New York State. The New Visions Scholarship is renewable for up to three years provided the student maintains an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or better. Recipients are also encouraged to submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other sources of financial aid.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Project Lead The Way Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering freshmen upon admission to the College and based upon participation in Project Lead the Way coursework in high school. This Scholarship is renewable for up to three years provided the student maintains an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or better. Recipients are also encouraged to submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other sources of financial aid.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Health Care Exposure Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering freshmen upon admission to the College and based upon completion of a high school health science program, such as an Area Health Education Center program, who are nominated for the scholarship by the Office of Admissions. The Health Care Exposure Scholarship is renewable for up to three years provided the student maintains an overall cumulative GPA of 2.7 or better. Recipients are also encouraged to submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other sources of financial aid.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is awarded to graduates of a 2 year community college, who are members of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society program. The student must maintain a 3.0 overall cumulative GPA and full-time enrollment for continued renewal of the scholarship.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences On-Campus Housing Grant
ACPHS offers housing grants to qualified entering freshmen who demonstrate exceptional financial need. Students must reside on-campus in dormitories owned by ACPHS for consecutive terms for continued renewal of the grant. Students must submit the FAFSA each year to determine eligibility for this grant.
Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences New York Trustee Scholarship
ACPHS offers tuition scholarships to qualified entering P1 students to the Albany Campus upon admission to the College based upon superior academic achievement. The New York Trustee Scholarship is renewed for a maximum of 3 semesters during the undergraduate years provided the student maintains a cumulative overall GPA of 3.0 or better. Although eligibility for this scholarship is based upon academic merit, students are encouraged to submit the FAFSA to determine eligibility for other sources of financial aid.
AAACP Memorial Scholarship
In honor of the College’s Alumni who have passed on, the Alumni Association of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences established this scholarship fund to assist current students. This scholarship is a living legacy to the 130 plus years of College history and 10,000 alumni.
AAACPHS General Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established by donations from alumni and gifts given in memory of deceased classmate. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need.
Alpha Theta Chapter of Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity Award
The endowment is established exclusively for the benefit of the brothers of Alpha Theta Chapter of Phi Delta Chi Professional Pharmacy Fraternity. Brothers in this chapter may apply to be considered for this award in years 3-5 of study. Interested applicants should contact members of the chapter’s Alumni Committee to apply.
Nick G. '57 and Anne Roskelly Anagnost Family Scholarship Fund
The Nick G. (1957) and Anne Roskelly Anagnost Family Scholarship Fund shall be to support student(s) who will attend the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and graduated from a high school in one of the counties listed below and has (have) financial need. This award will be given to a student who has graduated from Odessa-Montour Central School or Watkins Glen Central School in Schuyler County. These students should be considered first. If there are no students from Schuyler County, this scholarship may be awarded to a student who graduated from a high school in Chenango County or Tompkins County. Students may also be considered from Dundee Central School located in Yates County.
Students must be in the professional years of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (P 1-P4 ). Students should be "in good" academic standing- (this scholarship is not based on a high GPA; the intent is not to exclude any student due to a GPA - all inclusive).
Students must reapply for the scholarship each year as it will not automatically be renewed.
Allen Barnum '24 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Mr. Barnum to assist deserving students. Eligibility is based upon financial need and academic merit.
Be The Change Scholarship
Presented to the College as a gift upon their graduation, the Class of 2011 established the Be the Change Scholarship to honor the work of faculty member Dr. Ray Chandrasekara. This scholarship is presented annually to a student who shows dedication to the college community through service and leadership, displays an eclectic school and life balance, and embodies selflessness and shares this attribute with others.
Milton Bernstein '31 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established to assist deserving students. Eligibility is based upon financial need and/or academic achievement
Bette Family Scholarship Fund
Established in 2010 by ACPHS Trustee and honorary degree recipient Michael Bette and his family, the Bette Family Scholarship Fund supports minority students who have graduated from an Albany, Troy or Schenectady City High School including public, charter, military and parochial schools. The recipient(s) must have financial need, as determined by the College.
Oren O. Bigelow '42 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established for students who reside in Chenango, Madison, Otsego, Cortland or Delaware Counties. Recipients must be graduates of high schools located in these counties. This scholarship is awarded to a deserving student based upon financial need.
Rudolph H. Blythe '31 Scholarship
Established by Dr. Rudolph H. Blyth ’31, the award is intended to stimulate and reward interest in the pursuit of graduate study and will be given to a senior or a recent graduate from ACPHS who has firm plans to continue his or her education through the MS or PhD level in a pharmacy related field. The selection shall be based on initiative, follow through, ability to work with others with emphasis on ability for and demonstration of original and creative thinking.
James E. Bollinger ’58 Memorial Scholarship
Through the generosity of James’ wife Joyce and his family, friends and colleagues the James E. Bollinger ’58 Memorial Scholarship was established in honor of James’ dedication to his alma mater, including his nearly decade of service as a member of the Board of Trustees. This scholarship is awarded to a pharmacy student in their third year (first professional year) of study who are in good academic standing with the College.

This scholarship is based on financial need.
The Borisenok Family Foundation Biomanufacturing Scholar
Merit based endowed scholarship for graduate students pursuing a Masters in Biotechnology degree. Criteria for the scholarship is as follows: Enrolled in the program, demonstrated financial need, minimum 2.5 GPA, a U.S. Citizen and interested in a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
Debra Bramer '87 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a pharmacy student who is a resident of Montgomery County, is aspiring to work or is working part-time in a retail setting and is dedicated to community service, particularly with the elderly. This award is based upon financial need.
Leigh Briscoe-Dwyer '87 Scholarship
Established by Class of 1987 alumna Leigh Briscoe-Dwyer, this scholarship supports a student from Delaware, Broome, Chenango, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Otsego, or Schoharie counties in New York with preference given to a female student. In addition, the student should not be eligible for a federal Pell grant and their expected family contribution should be less than the cost of attendance.
Bristol-Myers Squibb Scholarship

Established by a gift from CAPS, this scholarship is granted to a fifth-year student who also qualifies as a member of the Pharmaceutical Society of the State of New York.
The Class of 1962 Scholarship
The award is given annually to an academically able and well-rounded student with financial need.
The Class of 1971 Scholarship Fund
The Class of 1971 Scholarship Fund was established to provide financial support to students who have demonstrated financial need and a real commitment to medical care for patients.
The Class of 1974 Scholarship
The purpose of The Class of 1974 Scholarship is to support students of Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences who have financial need and have performed service to the College and/or pharmacy profession either through student government, professional organizations, fraternal organizations, athletics, clubs, etc.
Class of 1988 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established in memory of deceased members of the Class of 1988. This need-based scholarship is awarded to a fifth- or sixth-year student who has good overall academic achievement, and is a respected friend and colleague within their class.
The Alfred J. Collins Jr. ’53/ Warner-Lambert/JC Penney Scholarship
This scholarship was established from a gift from Warner-Lambert on behalf of Alfred J. Collins Jr. ’53, chairman of the board of trustees from 1985-1993 and 1997-2003. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.
The Corman Family Scholarship Fund
Established in memory of Selig D. Corman ’58 and his father Eugene Y. Corman ’34, will be awarded to students who have demonstrated a desire to follow in the footsteps of these two pharmacists, who devoted their lives to keeping community healthy. The scholarship will be provided to a student(s) in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program during their P1-P4 years. The students shall be in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need.
Thomas Cutbush '68 Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in memory of Thomas Cutbush '68. Eligibility is based upon financial need and academic merit.
Demers Family Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to first-year students who are residents of St. Lawrence, Franklin, Jefferson or Lewis counties.
H. Russell Denegar ’43 Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in 1996 by a gift from H. Russell Denegar and is dedicated to Mr. Denegar, an ACPHS alumnus and former associate dean of the College. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need.
Rinaldo V. DeNuzzo '52 Alumni Scholarship
The Rinaldo V. DeNuzzo Alumni Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
The Francis Donovan ’51 Scholarship
Scholarship is granted based upon financial needs and academic merit.
The Scholarship was established in honor of Francis Donovan ’51, a former Trustee for the College and founding member of APhA. The scholarship is granted based upon financial needs and academic merit.
Duteau Family Scholarship
The Duteau Family Scholarship was established by alumnus Corey Duteau ’97, Michael Duteau ’92 and Real Duteau ’69 with preference given to a student who graduated in Chittenden County, Vermont Area; Clinton County, New York area; Onondaga County, New York area; or Morris County, New Jersey area. This scholarship is awarded to a student in good academic standing with financial need who is enrolled at the College. Students are required to submit an application annually to the Financial Aid Office outlining how this scholarship will impact their ability to complete the pharmacy program and continue the legacy of Duteau family values of community service and leadership.
Harland R. Eckler '20 Alumni Fund Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the late Mr. Eckler to provide scholarships for deserving students.
Eli Lilly Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established from donations of alumni employees of Eli Lilly and Company, their matching gifts and a gift from Eli Lilly and Company. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.
Edward A. ’59 and Dorothy M. ’62 Fausel Scholarship
Established in 2010, the Fausel Scholarship is awarded to a pharmacy student in a professional year of study. Recipients of this scholarship should be in good academic standing with the College. Additional consideration will be given to students who have an expected family contribution, as determined by the FAFSA, which excludes them from federal grant assistance but includes them for need based federal loans.
John E. Flynn Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Dr. Flynn, professor of biology at ACPHS. This award is based on financial need and academic merit.
Dr. Rocco F. Giruzzi Jr. ‘58 Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2019, scholarships are awarded in honor of Rocco F. Giruzzi Jr., an alumnus from the class of 1958, a long tenured Trustee of the College and an ACPHS Honorary Award recipient of the Doctor of Humane Letters. Scholarships will be awarded annually to academically qualified students pursuing the Doctor of Pharmacy degree while in the professional years (P1-P4) on the Albany Campus, with demonstrated financial need.
Professor Gary D. Hall Pharmaceutics Scholarship Fund
It is the expressed wishes of John R. Cote '70, Pharm.D. to establish the Professor Gary D. Hall Pharmaceutics Scholarship Fund to provide financial support to student(s) enrolled in the Pharm.D. program who intend to pursue a career in institutional pharmacy practice, and have demonstrated exceptional interest, talent, and skill upon completion of the PSL Ill and IV and an IPPE in Institutional Practice. This endowed scholarship to be awarded annually is in honor of Pharmaceutics Professor Gary D. Hall and initially funded by John R. Cote, Pharm.D., Pharmacy Laboratory Assistant to Professor Hall between 1967 - 1970. Student(s) must have received a grade of 83% (3.0 GPA) or higher in PSL Ill and IV and must have completed their IPPE in Institutional Practice. The student(s) are asked to complete a 250-500 word essay about why they would like to pursue a career in institutional pharmacy practice.
Haggerty '22 Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established by Frederick Haggerty ’50 and his sister-in-law, Edna, in memory of Frederick’s parents, Kenneth and Alice Haggerty, both members of the Class of 1922. Scholarships will be awarded to pharmacy students enrolled in the professional years of study. Students must be in good academic standing, have financial need and intend to practice pharmacy upon graduation.
Irving and Charlotte Helprin Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established through the generosity of Irving and Charlotte Helprin, this scholarship honors their life work and commitment to Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the community of Saratoga Springs, NY. Irving Helprin, a member of the College’s graduating class of 1928, was the owner of Helprin Brother’s Pharmacy in Saratoga Springs, NY. Mr. and Mrs. Helprin established this scholarship for a student who has graduated from the Saratoga Springs, NY City School District and attends Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
Walter '43 and Kathryn Henning Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Walter Henning ’43 and his wife, Kathryn. This award is based on financial need and academic merit.
Paul A. Jablon Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is in memory of Dr. Jablon, professor of pharmacy at ACPHS. This award is based on financial need and academic merit.
Kenneth G. Hunter ’25 Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to the incoming first-year student having the highest SAT score placing in the top 5 percent of his or her class.
Bruce Kay ’66 Memorial Scholarship Fund
Established by the friends and family of former ACPHS trustee Bruce Kay ’66, this scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated financial need and academic excellence. Special preference is given to students who are interested in pursuing a career in hospital pharmacy.
Kirkpatrick Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is in memory of Ozzie and Margaret Kirkpatrick, caretakers of ACPHS for more than 40 years. This award is based on financial need and academic merit.
The Chester Koblantz Scholarship Fund in Memory of Susan M. Koblantz, Nathan Koblantz and Betty Koblantz
The scholarship was established with a gift from the trust of Chester Koblantz in memory of his wife, Susan M. Koblantz '65, his father, Nathan Koblantz '26, and his mother, Betty Koblantz. Scholarships are awarded to full time students pursuing a pharmacy degree based on financial need, good academic standing, and likelihood of successful attainment of a pharmacy degree.
Susan Nicholson Layne '61 Scholarship
The Susan Nicholson Layne ’61 Scholarship was established to provide scholarship assistance to a female student in the fifth (P3) or sixth (P4) year of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program. The student shall be in good academic standing as determined by the college with preference given to a student who is a single parent.
Richard E. Learned Graduate Research Scholarship
Established through the generosity of Susan Learned, a 1991 alumna of ACPHS, this scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing graduate study at the College. The student must be both academically and financially deserving and intend to pursue a career in pharmacokinetics, clinical pharmacology, and/or translational research.
E. Charles Leighton ’59 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Josephine Leighton in memory of her husband E. Charles Leighton, an ACPHS alumnus. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.
Rita E. Leighton ’86 Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established in honor of former board of trustees member Rita Leighton, M.D., and is awarded annually to a female basketball player. The recipient must have completed two academic years at the College, played two full seasons of basketball at ACPHS and be in good academic standing. Along with her high academic achievement, Dr. Leighton was the career scoring leader for ACPHS women’s basketball from 1986-2005.
George C. Lewis '28 Alumni Scholarship
This fund was established to recognize the late Mr. Lewis, who served with distinction as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1966-76. This scholarship is awarded based upon financial need and academic merit.
Janet Doyle Maiuro ’52 Memorial Scholarship Fund

Edward Malkonian '34 Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who has demonstrated the resilience to rise above adverse circumstances by dint of hard work and tenacity. The student must have maintained a good class standing while sustaining part-time employment and diverse responsibilities. This award is based upon financial need.
Donald McAndrew ’62 Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established by the Class of 1962 in memory of their classmate, an adjunct faculty member who died in 1994. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.

Harry Mikhitarian ’54 Memorial Scholarship
Created by his family in memory of former trustee Harry Mikhitarian ’54, this scholarship is awarded to a well-rounded student from the Capital Region who demonstrates financial need and a commitment to community service.
Dr. Kenneth W. Miller Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 1993, scholarships are awarded in honor of Dr. Miller, president and dean of ACPHS from 1982-93. Scholarships will be awarded annually to academically qualified students pursuing the Doctor of Pharmacy degree while in the professional years (class years 3-6) with demonstrated financial need. Preference will be given to 3-Year Doctor of Pharmacy students entering the College with a bachelor’s degree.
J.J. Morrissey Memorial Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is in memory of James J. Morrissey Jr. ’65, alumnus of ACPHS. To be eligible for this award, students must have at least two years of military service.
The Marion T. Morton '84 Scholarship Fund
Marion Morton '84 believes that financial aid is critical to enrolling an academically strong and diverse student body. Morton established the scholarship to support students who would not be able to otherwise afford to attend Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. In addition to financial need, students must be in the professional years of the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and in good academic standing.
Varant Najarian Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is in memory of Varant Najarian, the longtime chair of the Liberal Arts Department at ACPHS (now incorporated in the Department of Arts and Sciences) and a member of the College faculty from 1953 until his death in August 2002. The scholarship recognizes a student who has demonstrated excellence in the liberal arts portion of the curriculum.
National Association of Chain Drug Stores Scholarship
This scholarship was established by a gift in 1996 from NACDS. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.
Francis J. O'Brien '20 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established as a matching fund by an anonymous alumnus in memory of Francis J. O'Brien, Dean of the College from 1943-67. Scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students based upon financial need and academic excellence.
Francis J. O'Brien Emergency Loan Fund
This fund is designated to provide short-term emergency loans to students of no more than $500 per semester ($1,000 maximum per year). Students must sign a promissory note with the vice president for enrollment management. All loan proceeds must be re-paid to the fund within 30 days.
David Oles ’76 Vermont Scholarship Fund
The Oles ’76 Vermont Scholarship is awarded to a pharmacy student to attend the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Supported through a gift from David Oles, class of 1976, recipients of this scholarship must be residents of the state of Vermont at the time of application to the program and have documented financial need.
Burt Orrin Kinney Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established for students with financial need from the New York counties of St. Lawrence, Jefferson, Delaware, Franklin, Lewis, northern Oswego or Clinton, or the Vermont counties of Chittenden or Franklin. Recipients must be graduates of high schools located in the designated counties.
Michele Pallotta ’77 Commitment to Pharmacy Scholarship
The scholarship was established by alumna Michele Pallotta for the benefit of a student enrolled in the pharmacy program. The recipient must be in one of the professional years of the program. The scholarship is based on financial need.
Henry A. Panasci, Jr. Pharmacy Scholarship
This fund was established by Mr. Panasci, cofounder of Fay’s Drug Company, Inc. Scholarships are based upon financial need and academic merit.
Julius Anthony Pasquariello ’83 Scholarship Fund
A member of the class of 1983, Julius Anthony Pasquariello established this scholarship to benefit student leaders at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. As a student leader within his class, Julius wishes to honor and acknowledge ACPHS students who strive to become a well-rounded student. Recipients of this scholarship must be a class officer for a minimum of one-year and be of good moral character. The recommendation of a faculty or staff member is also required.
Pay It Forward Fund
This concept came from Donald Seifert ’58 who believes passionately in helping today’s pharmacy students live out their dreams without a large financial burden to carry. The awards will be given to graduating Doctor of Pharmacy students who have secured a job in pharmacy with loans to pay back. Applications must be submitted for consideration to the Office of Financial Aid. Applicant will consider a future donation to the Pay-it-Forward Fund when an opportune time presents itself. The awards must be applied to outstanding financial aid.
Malcolm Payne ’86 Memorial Scholarship Fund
A member of the Alumni Association of Albany College of Pharmacy (AAACP) since his graduation in 1986, Malcolm was most importantly a proud father, husband, son, brother and an amazing friend. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has financial need.
The Pharmacy, Inc., of Bennington Vermont Endowed Scholarship Fund
In addition to being the son or daughter of parents who did not attend college, applicants for this scholarship must enter Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences directly from high school and pursue a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The ideal candidate will have participated in extracurricular activities in high school namely, student government, academic teams and clubs, the arts, internships, culture clubs, drama team, the student newspaper or volunteer work and community service.
Bertram Rapowitz '58 Scholarship
This scholarship was established by a gift from Bertram Rapowitz '58. This scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
The Dr. Barry Reiss Memorial Scholarship
The Dr. Barry Reiss Memorial Scholarship is established to honor the tenure of Dr. Reiss who served on ACPHS's faculty for thirty years. This scholarship will go to one or more students with demonstrated financial need who are studying pharmacy in ACPHS's PharmD program (P2, P3 or P4 years), are in good academic standing, and have an interest in community pharmacy. Recipients will be selected from faculty recommendations that will be reviewed by the Honors and Awards Committee in advance of the fall award ceremony.
Frank A. Reiss ’89 Memorial Scholarship
Frank Reiss was a community pharmacist and an active member of the Pharmacist Society of the State of New York, (PSSNY) including serving as president of the organization. A member of the class of 1989, Frank established this scholarship to encourage future community pharmacists. The recipient of this scholarship must have an interest in owning a community pharmacy and be a member of PSSNY.
Rite Aid Corporation Scholarship
This endowed scholarship was established in 1983 by a gift from the Rite Aid Corporation. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.
Ellis H. Robison Alumni Scholarship
Established in memory of former Board of Trustees member and chairman, the Robison Scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
James J. Roome ’79 Endowed Scholarship
Established by James J. Roome ’79, this scholarship provides assistance to a student in the Doctor of Pharmacy program. The student must be in good academic standing as determined by the college and have financial need as determined by the Office of Financial Aid.
Aaron Rosenshine ‘26 Scholarship Fund
The award is given annually to an academically able and well-rounded student with financial need.
Dr. Faith S. Rothermel ’04 Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship will be awarded annually to academically qualified students pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The female recipient will be entering into the PGY2 year with an undergraduate degree in the sciences, have a GPA of 3.5 or higher at the end of their PGY1 year and have financial need.
Dennis Rule '96 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is an active member of a fraternal organization and involved in a community service outside of ACPHS. The award is based upon financial need.
Debbie Savage Award
The Debbie Savage Award will provide financial support to students who have demonstrated financial need and exemplify the values Debbie had for others through her caring and people-centered approach to her role at the College. A recipient will be chosen through a nomination process for a student in their final year of study at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. The student may be nominated by a fellow classmate, faculty, or staff member.
Nancy Shishik ’83 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Nancy Shishik ’83 to directly benefit a student who emulates Nancy’s life, work and passions. Most important to Nancy was her perseverance during her return to pharmacy school after having children and then being a working mother during an incredibly successful career. During her courageous battle with non-smoking lung cancer, Nancy, along with her children Serene ’93 and Serge ’95 and countless friends and family members, established this scholarship. Nancy’s legacy lives on through her desire to assist students who, like herself, return to Pharmacy school to pursue their dreams.
Smith Drug Company Endowed Scholarship
The Smith Drug Company Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to outstanding first, second, third, and fourth professional year students with an emphasis on students from Vermont and studying at the Albany Campus.
The Richard E. Sobiski ’65 Masters in Biomanufacturing and Bioprocessing Fund
This scholarship will make an annual award to a student(s) in the Professional Science Master's Program at the Stack Family Center of Biopharmaceutical Education and Training. The awardee (s) chosen will have financial need and want to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry.

Carol Lee Sowek '74 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by Edward and Muriel Sowek in memory of their daughter Carol, a 1974 graduate of ACPHS’s former Medical Technology program. This scholarship is awarded to a Biomedical Technology student and is based upon financial need.
Dr. Bruce Stewart '55 Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship will be given to a pharmacy student in financial need, who is in their third or fourth professional year and has serious intent to go on for a degree in medicine to obtain a MD or DO. If no pharmacy student fits these criteria, then the scholarships can be awarded to any ACPHS student interested in pursuing a degree in medicine with their goal being the attainment of an MD or DO.
Dr. Robert M. Stote ’60 Endowed Scholarship Fund
Given by Dr. Robert M. Stote ‘60 in support of an endowed scholarship at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. By putting students first, ACPHS seeks to ensure continued access to higher education for students with limited means by increasing the number of undergraduate and graduate scholarship awards. The Larry '88 & Catherine Tabor Scholarship
Established by class of 1988 alumnus Larry Tabor and his wife Catherine, this scholarship directly supports a student from Larry’s hometown. This scholarship is awarded to a student who graduates from the Milford Central School or Cherry Valley\Springfield Central School. The scholarship is available to any student graduating from Otsego County if the first criteria cannot be satisfied.
Vander Veer Scholarship
This scholarship is part of the general scholarship fund and used for graduate student needs such as the ACPHS Pharm.D. program.
Frank Viviani ’58 & Angela Viviani Scholarship
The Frank Viviani ’58 and Angela Viviani Scholarship was established in 2014 to support a student from Oneida County who is attending Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Originally from Rome, NY, Frank worked as a pharmacist for New York State and in retail settings in and around Oneida County. Frank and Angela established this scholarship to benefit students from their hometown.
Wegmans Scholarship Fund
The Wegman’s Scholarship is restricted to students that maintain a specific high level of achievement throughout their academic career, perform excellent work, and who agree to complete either summer internships at Wegman’s or 6th year rotations, or both.
Jane Wells Fox ’68 Scholarship Fund
The Jane Wells Fox ‘68 Scholarship Fund honors Jane’s legacy of community service, professional excellence and leadership. One of Jane’s greatest satisfactions in pharmacy was serving patients and assisting them with understanding and correctly using their prescriptions and medications.
The scholarship is to be awarded to a student in good academic standing, with a financial need, who is enrolled in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program and is a P2-P4 student. The award will be made with an order of preference given to a student who 1) graduated from Lansingburgh High School, 2) any high school in the City of Troy, 3) any high school graduate from Rensselaer, Albany, Schenectady and/or Saratoga Counties.
Students applying for the Jane Wells Fox '68 Scholarship Fund will be provided a short bio about Jane and the impact she had on her profession and her alma mater, ACPHS.
Albert M. and Carolyn White Alumni Scholarship Fund
Established by the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Albert M. White, a former associate dean of the College. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, scholastic ability and athletic participation.
Michael P. and Elsie K. Yuda Scholarship
The scholarship was established from a gift of the Yuda Trust upon the death of Elsie, the widow of ACPHS graduate Michael P. Yuda ’30. Scholarships are granted based upon financial need and academic merit.
Mario M. Zeolla ’97 Memorial Scholarship
Created by his family in memory of beloved faculty member Mario M. Zeolla ’97, this scholarship is awarded annually to a pharmacy student enrolled in the professional years of study who shows strong leadership qualities, has a high academic standing and has completed two full seasons of soccer.
In addition to the scholarships listed above, each year the Alumni Association generously provides funding to be used for scholarships to be awarded on the basis of established need.

Recipients must be graduates of high schools located in the designated counties.
Paul A. Jablon Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is in memory of Dr. Jablon, professor of pharmacy at ACPHS. This award is based on financial need and academic merit.
James McGuinness '71 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving student based upon academic merit and/or financial need.
George C. Lewis '28 Alumni Scholarship
This fund was established to recognize the late Mr. Lewis, who served with distinction as a member of the Board of Trustees from 1966-76. This scholarship is awarded based upon financial need and academic merit.
Francis J. O'Brien '20 Alumni Scholarship
This scholarship was established as a matching fund by an anonymous alumnus in memory of Francis J. O'Brien, Dean of the College from 1943-67. Scholarships are awarded annually to deserving students based upon financial need and academic excellence.
Francis J. O'Brien Emergency Loan Fund
This fund is designated to provide short-term emergency loans to students of no more than $500 per semester ($1,000 maximum per year). Students must sign a promissory note with the vice president for enrollment management. All loan proceeds must be re-paid to the fund within 30 days.
Malcolm Payne ’86 Memorial Scholarship Fund
A member of the Alumni Association of Albany College of Pharmacy (AAACP) since his graduation in 1986, Malcolm was most importantly a proud father, husband, son, brother and an amazing friend. This scholarship is awarded annually to a student who has financial need.
Bertram Rapowitz '58 Scholarship
This scholarship was established by a gift from Bertram Rapowitz '58. This scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
Ellis H. Robison Alumni Scholarship
Established in memory of former Board of Trustees member and chairman, the Robison Scholarship is awarded annually on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.
Dennis Rule '96 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who is an active member of a fraternal organization and involved in a community service outside of ACPHS. The award is based upon financial need.
Albert M. and Carolyn White Alumni Scholarship Fund
Established by the family, friends, and colleagues of the late Albert M. White, a former associate dean of the College. This scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate strong leadership qualities, scholastic ability and athletic participation.
The following Academic Honors and Awards are presented to enrolled students based on nominations from faculty, staff, administrators, or preceptors. Using these nominations, a committee of faculty members chooses the recipients. The College presents the below awards annually when an eligible recipient has been identified. Awards marked with an asterisk (*) are presented to graduates as part of Commencement exercises.
*American Chemical Society Award
Given by the American Chemical Society for general excellence in the chemistry sequence by high GPA and faculty nominations.
*The Morris M. Daffner ’32 Memorial Award for Excellence in Pharmacy Practice
Established by his wife Beatrice and son Dr. Richard Daffner ’63, in memory of Morris M. Daffner ’32. Awarded to a graduating student who has shown excellence in pharmacy practice by faculty and preceptor nominations.
*Community Service Award
This award acknowledges the commitment by a senior Bachelor of Science student to service in his/her community. The recipient will have a strong record of a variety of activities that have provided significant service to the ACPHS community or the community at large.
*Cultural Awareness Award
This award acknowledges the commitment of a senior Bachelor of Science student to cultural awareness as part of health and well-being. The recipient will have a strong record of engaging with, and promotion of, both the understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity.
CVS Health Foundation Scholarship
In the 1986-87 academic year, CVS began granting scholarships to students from ACPHS. These scholarships are based upon academic merit.
*Leadership Award
This award acknowledges the demonstration of leadership by a senior Bachelor of Science student. The recipient will have a strong record of a variety of activities such as providing guidance to fellow students, organizing and participation in community activities, and serving as a role model for the development of leadership skills.
Dr. Lawrence H. MacDonald Memorial Award
Awarded by the American Chemical Society to the student with the highest standing in freshman chemistry.
*William Mansfield Award
A cash prize from a fund established under the will of Dean William Mansfield awarded to the pharmacy student who has the highest scholastic standing for the entire six years of the PharmD program.
*Lucy M. Manvel Membership Awards
Four memberships of one year each are awarded annually by the Northeastern New York Society of Hospital Pharmacists to P2 through P4 year students employed at a hospital pharmacy in the Northeast; by faculty and preceptor nominations. Two awards are presented at the Fall awards ceremony and two awards are given at graduation.
*Merck and Company, Inc. Awards
Five sets of the Merck Index and Merck Manual are awarded to students having high scholastic standing in the Pharmacotherapy, Pharmaceutics, and Experiential sequences; by faculty and preceptor nominations.
*Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Award
Presented to a graduating student for excellence in pharmacy; by faculty and preceptor nominations.
*Patient Care Awards for Excellence in Experiential Education
Four awards given to students who demonstrate exceptional clinical skills, dedication to patient care, and professionalism on Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences; by faculty and preceptor nominations.
*PSSNY Award
A five-year membership in the Pharmaceutical Society of the State of New York awarded to a graduating student deemed worthy of honor and an active member of PSSNY; by faculty and preceptor nominations.
The Robert J. Sherer Memorial Scholarship Award
A monetary award given by 5 friends is presented to the 5th year student with the highest cumulative average for the first four years at ACPHS.
*US Public Health Service Award
Awarded by the U.S. Public Health Service to a graduating pharmacy student for excellence in public health pharmacy practice. The student must be nominated by faculty, who complete a detailed nomination form. The Scholarship and Awards committee selects one nomination on behalf of the College to submit for consideration among the national pool of nominations. Only a few students from around the country are given this award.
Walmart Scholarship Award
Awarded to three pharmacy students who have financial need, high scholastic standing, show strong leadership qualities, and have a desire to enter community pharmacy practice. Students submit an essay with faculty or preceptor nominations, and top three students are selected by the Scholarship and Awards Committee.

- Dr. Joseph Lapetina Award - Established by benefactor Dr. Ralph ’59 and Mary Lou ’60 Mancini in memory of Dr. Lapetina. a professor of mathematics and physics and Dean of Academics during his 47 years of service at ACPHS. He also served on the Board of Trustees. Presented to a student with financial need who demonstrates academic excellence in physics.

NOMINATION BASED AWARDS
- Albertsons Companies Scholarship Given to a student in the first or second professional year with demonstrated leadership, has high academic standing, and possesses a desire to enter community pharmacy.
- The Lucy M. Manvel Membership Award Given by the New York State Council of Health-System Pharmacists to students who are employed by a hospital pharmacy in the Northeast and have demonstrated commitment to the profession.
- General Excellence Among all Bachelor's Programs Given to three students who have a least a 3.5 GPA but also go "above and beyond" not only receiving high grades in the classroom but also are highly involved on campus.
- Be the Change Award Given by the Class of 2011 to a student in their professional years who demonstrates professionalism, leadership, service, encourages other to be better, and exudes an aura of friendliness.

The Yellow Ribbon program is available for up to 10 Chapter 33 students who are receiving 100% of the maximum benefit. Open spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Once you have your Certificate of Eligibility you will want to submit it to our School Certifying Official, Richard Sabbia, Director of Financial Aid at financial_aid@acphs.edu or 518-694-7256.
As an international student, you may be eligible for some of the merit scholarships offered by the College. Merit scholarships are based on your academic performance prior to attending the College. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid to determine if you qualify.
All awards are based upon full-time enrollment each semester, unless otherwise indicated. Recipients must be accepted for enrollment or full-time matriculated students, maintaining standards of satisfactory academic progress. All awards are subject to adjustment due to changes in enrollment status or private funds.
The Office of Financial Aid will evaluate eligibility annually, based upon issuance of final grades for spring term. Awards will be renewed on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are expended. Awards will not be renewed to students with incomplete financial aid paperwork after May 1.
Presidential Scholarships, Dean’s Scholarships, Trustee Scholarships and Trustee Grants will be renewed for a maximum of 11 semesters for entering freshmen students pursuing the Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
Presidential Scholarships, Dean’s Scholarships, Trustee Scholarships, Trustee Grants, Pharmaceutical Sciences Scholars Awards, Biomedical Technology Excel Awards, Health and Human Sciences Awards, and Trustee Scholarships for students in Bachelor’s Degree programs will be renewed for a maximum of seven semesters.
A student's enrollment status for determining financial aid eligibility and student loan deferment includes only courses required for degree fulfillment. Courses in which a student is enrolled that are not required for her/his degree program do not qualify for payment or student loan deferment.
There may be certain circumstances in which a professional judgement is appropriate. ACPHS will consider all such requests.
If you feel you or your family has special circumstances that impact your financial situation (loss of job etc.) you may complete a Special Circumstances Form to see if your financial aid eligibility changes. The form is available from the Financial Aid Office.
If you have unusual circumstances that may affect your dependency status based on a unique situation (parental abandonment refugee or asylum status etc.), you may complete the Unusual Circumstances Form to be considered for a Dependency Override. The form is also available from the Financial Aid Office.
Please complete our Request for Special Conditions Application which can be obtained in the Financial Aid Office. It is recommended that you contact our Financial Aid Office to discuss your special conditions prior to completing the form. If we feel that your circumstance is unusual and impacting your ability to pay, your financial aid award may be adjusted.
