Two Students Receive Full-Tuition Scholarships

April 14, 2025

Bayshore High School on Long Island was buzzing last week after Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences' Assistant Director of Admissions, Nicoy Pusey, shared a wonderful surprise with an unassuming senior. Nataly Quituizaca, who was accepted last fall to ACPHS, was awarded a full-tuition scholarship to the College based on her GPA and community engagement. In addition, Nataly is Peer Support mentor, a HELLO Ambassadors mentor, an attendance aide, and Spanish interpreter, as well as being actively involved in the Interact Club. Nataly is interested in pursuing clinical laboratory sciences at ACPHS.

About four hours north, the parents of Maya Starr, a senior at Queensbury High School, also notified her of the same award. Maya has, and continues to take honors level courses, IB courses, and college courses. Her letters of recommendation mention her commitment and determination in succeeding, particularly when taking on new, challenging coursework. In addition, she is cited for her admirable volunteer work/community service with a local church, food pantry, and shelter, and McCann Pharmacy in Hudson Falls, NY. Maya was accepted at ACPHS last fall and is interested in pursuing pharmacy.

Both young women also participated in Scholarship Day, and faculty were impressed with their enthusiasm and participation in the viral case study presented to them.

Congratulations to both Nataly and Maya!
