ACPHS Career Fair Draws Big Crowd

The annual ACPHS Career Fair on Friday, November 8 drew representatives from more than 30 employers, graduate schools, and residency/fellowship programs. On the following day, nearly 500 one-on-one interviews took place between students and prospective employers.

The event surpassed the previous year's Career Fair in terms of the number of exhibitors and attendees. Exhibitors at the 2013 event included Cardinal Health, CVS Caremark, Kinney Drugs, Department of Health, St. Joseph's Hospital, the United States Navy, and Target.

The Career Fair is an opportunity for all students to gain more information about companies and learn about post-graduate residencies and fellowships. It serves as the centerpiece of a three day series of events that begins with a Career Forum on Thursday evening.

At this year's Career Forum, seven alumni from the past six years returned to campus to discuss their career paths since graduation. The panel was comprised of individuals from across the College's academic programs who work in community pharmacies, pharmaceutical companies, and hospitals. Following the discussion, a networking reception was held to give current students opportunities to meet the panelists and ask additional questions.

Students who are graduating in May 2014 were also able to to schedule interviews with employers on Saturday, November 10. On that day, there were 492 interviews arranged between students and participating organizations.
