Athletic Administrative/Event Management Intern

Position Description:  Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Athletic Department is seeking qualified candidates for an unpaid internship position as an Athletic Administrative/Event Management intern. ACPHS is an independent institution that competes against community colleges, NCAA, NAIA and other collegiate institutions. The College is also a member and competitor in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA).

Responsibilities Include:  This position is an integral part of the event management staff, assisting with all operations for home athletic events and outside event rentals. Position may serve as primary event manager for some sport programs/athletic contests. Successful candidate will have a strong work ethic, possess excellent organizational and time management skills, be customer service oriented, and have a high level of computer proficiency with knowledge of Word, Excel and other software programs. Other duties may include updating of the athletic website, compile and distribution of statistics and maintaining ACPHS athletics social media sites. This opportunity will afford hands-on experience as well as in-depth knowledge of the administration functions of personnel in an intercollegiate athletic program.

Additional Requirements:  This position requires the assistance and coordination of all game/event day management (set-up, breakdown, game operations, maintenance, cleaning and event staffing); coordination of game day logistics with appropriate sport; performance of other related duties as assigned. This position will work under minimal supervision and will report to the Assistant Athletic Director. Previous event management experience in a college/university setting. Bachelor’s degree preferred, candidates seeking bachelor’s degree in Sport Management or similar concentrate will be considered; provided internships is a requirement of desired degree completion.
