Administrative Assistant

The Department of Humanities and Communication at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. This is a part-time, benefit eligible position, working approximately 28-30 hours per week (5-6 hours per day), five days a week, during the academic year, with a more reduced schedule during the summer months. Reporting to the Chair, this position will serve as the initial contact for students, faculty, administrators and other guests. The ideal candidate will have experience in a higher education or academic setting. The successful candidate will have experience with all facets of technology, including experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Blackboard, budgeting and vendor programs (such as Ariett and CAMS Enterprise), and webpage management preferred.

Coordinating multiple priorities, including outside vendors, clients, and visitors, from and throughout the US and internationally. Demonstrated technical competence in areas including teleconferencing and complex computer applications. Experience coordinating travel, both national and international travel, is a plus. Must be able to prioritize and multitask, take initiative, anticipate needs of the department, work independently and work with a team. The ability to work with a diverse group of students and faculty is essential, as well as an understanding of the need for confidentiality and impeccable attention to detail.

AAS degree required, Bachelor’s preferred. Minimum of two years administrative experience is required, preferably within higher education. Qualified candidates will have strong oral, written, and interpersonal skills along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
