Continuing Education and Professional Development

It never has been more important for professionals to stay on top of their games. ACPHS offers ongoing Continuing Professional Development courses for pharmacists and other health professionals to help keep them informed on the latest developments in their respective fields. Pharmacists may review the following attachment for information on CE/CPD requirements for licensure renewal in New York, Vermont, and Massachusetts.

Goal and Mission Statements

Goal Statement:  To promote the continuing education and professional development of pharmacists in all practice settings by providing learning opportunities that promote optimal patient care outcomes related to medication use and medication safety and to meet applicable accreditation standards and licensure requirements.

Mission Statement: To provide high quality, varied continuing education and professional development activities that promote knowledge of pharmacy practice and medication use as well as application of new skills and practice advancement for pharmacists.

CPE Monitor is a national, collaborative effort by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) to provide an electronic system for pharmacists to keep track of their completed continuing pharmacy education (CPE) credits. It will also offer state boards of pharmacy the opportunity to electronically authenticate the CPE units completed by their licensees rather than requiring submission of proof of statements of credit upon request or completing random audits. Click here for additional information about CPE Monitor.

Continuing Education Calendar

Please keep in mind the following policies when registering for a CEPD program:

New Payment and Registration Information: As of January 2013, online registration will only be available for those wishing to register using a credit card. For security purposes, participants will no longer have to write their credit card information on the registration form and fax or mail it. Credit cards will now be charged in real time. Interested participants not paying by credit card should mail their completed registration form with a check or voucher enclosed. Please do not fax a registration form with the intent to mail a check at a later date or to bring payment to the program. For on-site registrations, ONLY checks or vouchers will be accepted.

We will no longer be able to pre-register a participant for any program without payment by credit card, check, or voucher per the process outlined above. Please also note that registrations will no longer be taken over the phone or via e-mail.

Handout Policy: In an effort to be more environmentally conscious, the Office of CEPD no longer prints extensive handouts. Speaker handouts are e-mailed to registered participants prior to the program. A very limited number of handouts are available on the day of the program for on-site registrations only. You may also bring your laptop or tablet and access our guest wireless network on campus. Thank you for your support of this initiative.
