Message from President James J. Gozzo
Since 1881, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences has established a reputation
in the health care community and beyond as an outstanding educational institution.
We continue to explore opportunities for growth through additional academic offerings,
new and expanded facilities, a burgeoning research program, and an array of community
focused initiatives.
Examples of our recent growth include: an expanded library which doubled the size of the previous space; a newly redesigned dining hall complete with expanded food service offerings; our satellite campus in Vermont, offering
the only doctor of pharmacy program in the state; and the Pharmaceutical Research Institute
and related Center for NanoPharmaceuticals, where scientists and technicians focus
on drug discovery and development.
The ACPHS Student Center opened just a few years ago, but it has quickly become the heart of the expanded
Albany campus. With the addition of our two newest residence facilities – Holland
Suites and Princeton Suites – we now have more than two-thirds of our students in Albany
living on campus, creating a true community environment.
As you will discover, ACPHS offers a first-rate education that draws upon our rich history
but focuses squarely on the future. Regardless of what that future holds, our commitment to the success of each student will never change.
I look forward to meeting with you as you anticipate a promising and
rewarding career.
James J. Gozzo, Ph.D.
President
